Privacy Policy

Effective June 1, 2026

BusRadar (“we”, “us”) provides real-time school bus tracking to parents and guardians. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. We designed BusRadar to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, used to sign you in (via a one-time code) and to associate you with your child's bus. We do not require or store a password.

Child & route information. Your child's name, assigned bus, stop, and school — provided to us by your child's school, not collected from your device.

Bus location. The live GPS position of the bus your child rides, so we can show it on the map. This is the vehicle's location, supplied by the school's GPS device — not your phone's location.

App preferences. Notification and display settings are stored locally on your device.

What we do NOT collect

We do not track your phone's location. We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers that profile you.

How we use information

To show you your child's bus in real time, send the bus status/arrival notifications you enable, secure your account, and let a primary parent invite up to two additional trusted contacts (e.g. a co-parent or grandparent) to view the same bus.

Sharing

We share data only with: your child's school (the operator of the route), and infrastructure providers that run the service on our behalf (hosting, database, and transactional email). These providers process data under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your login and revokes your access to the bus. School-owned records (the route, stops, and your child's enrollment) are managed by the school.

Children's privacy

BusRadar accounts are for parents and guardians (adults). A child's name and stop are supplied by the school for the sole purpose of showing the correct bus to the authorized parent.
